The file "svcnost.exe" is known to be created under the following filenames:
%CommonPrograms%\startup\startup1.exe
%ProgramFiles%\internet explorer\svcnost.exe
%System%\3comnet\service\svcnost.exe
%System%\svcnost.exe
%Windir%\help\svcnost.exe

this line of code is malicious, it contains a trojan. (a type of virus) what it does is it downloads a windows executible onto your computer, and runs it if it can. don't worry it can't effect a mac. this is ushaully a sign of you not keeping your email address from hackers. (this type of virus is sent by email)

You didn't read his post close enough. The file he's trying to delete is:

OS 10.4 - How can I delete Svchost.exe?

This file is neither a virus or trojan. It's a normal process run by Windows for the DLL library. See this MS KB article.

Ahh drat Charlie and I was thinking we had our first Mac OS X virus!

Also try Secure Empty Trash and a simple reboot if the problem persists

svchost.exe

After some investigating into the 0X745f2780 SVCHOST error, it became apparent the problem is a corrupted Windows Update in Windows XP. Now follow the steps below to fix this error.
At first verify Windows Update Service Settings then
Click on Start, Run and type the following command in the open box and click OK
services.msc then
Find the Automatic Updates service and double-click on it.
Click on the Log On Tab and make sure the "Local System Account" is selected as the logon account and the box for "allow service to interact with desktop" is UNCHECKED. Try checking this guide on svchost.exe if you need more detailed steps.

@kiatek106

Did you read the original post closely? He's not running Windows - the file is in his Trash in Mac OS X.
