When I bought my G5 used, the guy before me had made one of the internal drives invisible using Houdini. I have removed that drive, and copied some of the data to a new external HD. I erased the new external HD before the transfer of data. So OK, now the data is in the external HD, but it's still invisible until I toggle Houdini. It's not automatically visible like all the other Has. And yes, the "show HDs in Finder" is checked. Somehow the "invisibility" transferred to the new HD along with the data! Any ideas on how to make thus just an ordinary external HD again?

I would try some Google searches and go through the various hits from these, and something should be able to fix the problem:

and/or:

Hopefully one of the hits should work.

I don't know much code in Terminal so I wouldn't trust myself to provide the instructions, but using copy and paste is usually fairly safe, and saves typing errors.
