When I was using MS Excel, you could hide columns by dragging over other columns.
I can't remember exactly how I did it, but it was very handy and quick.
Where I used it was when I set up my bank accounts. I didn't need to see the old months, so I somehow covered them so that I could see the top of the column with the titles and could drag the current columns to cover over what was old stuff. The data would still be there but just hidden. However I could easily reveal whatever old data I wanted by dragging the separator back to reveal it.
Is there a way to do this in numbers?
