ok, so its still logging out on its own (mac os x)
i went to console and saw this in the log

"*** malloc[454]: error for object 0x1881e00: Incorrect checksum for freed object - object was probably modified after being freed; break at szone_error"

i have no idea what it means. any1?

and then the system log shows this :

Feb 21 16:20:49 localhost automount[285]: logout notification received.
Feb 21 16:20:49 localhost automount[285]: requesting logout processing.
Feb 21 16:20:49 localhost automount[285]: handle_deferred_requests: user logged out.

this is what happens, it says that i physically logout.
can it be my volume hotkeys that arent working properly, cuz i have notcied that it only happens when i adjust the volume from my keyboard (not always though)

ok just reinstalled, now running panther 10.3.5 gna leave it here for a day or 2 to se if the problem persists. I must say, at the moment, mac is giving me more grief than windows!

ok, still not working, it only happens when i adjust the volume on the volume control on the keyboard

This is very odd. Since a reinstall didn't fix it, I'd suspect a hardware problem.
