Help with viewing HTML in Panther Wanted

I

Is it 1981?

Guest
Hi there,

I can now no longer view HTML pages using any of Apple's programs (Help Viewer, Preview, Mail, Safari etc), they always Unexpectedly Quit.

Running Disk Utility produces the "We are using special permissions..." message. I've even deleted the cd9660 file, and the "special permissions" message *Still* appears.

Repairing the disk permissions doesn't solve my problem - it's happened before and the only method of fixing my problem that worked was to backup and format my entire HD, install Jaguar and then Panther; something I don't want to have to go through again.

Can anyone shed light on this?

Did you do anything right before this started happening....e.g. installed software, modified settings or the OS?
