Hi all :)

A number of years ago I had a Kodak printer which I used across my small home network.

When I got rid of it I uninstalled its app by dragging it to the trash.

However every now and then I get the following message:

Do you want the application
"KodakAiOBonjourAgent.app" to accept
incoming network connections?

This suggests to me that I didn't purge all the little bits of software that I needed to. I have searched my mac for the Kodak app but with no success.

Any suggestions as to how I may rid myself of this message forever?

many thanks as usual, Nick

If you're using Spotlight to find where that reference is hiding, you'll never find it. Try using "Find Any File" or "EasyFind". Both of those apps will dig down into hidden folders to find what you're looking for. Chances are that it's in a hidden folder possibly located in the system library.

When something like this happens to me, I usually re-install the app and then uninstall the app again AFTER installing AppCleaner, https://freemacsoft.net/appcleaner/. It helps find the files associated with the installed app.

Also what you're probably looking for is a launch agent or a daemon, so look in the usual places.
/Library/LaunchAgents or /Library/LaunchDaemons
Also look in your user Library, same places.

Thank you all for replying with your suggestions.

I no longer have the install disc that came with the printer so reinstalling the app was impossible.

Looked in the launch agents folder in Finder and deleted the 2 Kodak files that were there but this didn't help. There was no launch daemons folder that I could see.

Then installed find any file and hey presto found over 280 files with the name "Kodak" in them that spotlight somehow didn't find (guess it doesn't want you to find them!!!). Anyway, what a great little app that is. Found the offending app and all the other printer sofyware that was left behind. All gone now and no annoying pop up on restart :)

When I originally deleted the software I didn't have App Zapper installed (I do now) so dragging to the trash obviously left a load of stuff behind. Guess I should have looked for an uninstaller file but hey-**.

Thanks again everyone, Nick

PS chscag - the site won't let me give you a thumbs up for some reason??

Yes, Nick, FAF is a great app and sits comfortably alongside EasyFind. The two are different, but also complementary. Congratulations.

If the last one you gave out was for him the forum wont let you, it wants you to spread it around.

It's more than just the last one, I tried to give it to three different members, but I kept getting that same thing.

You are correct, Bob.

I don't know exactly how it works, but you can't give it to A again, until you've given it to B and C, and probably, D. There might even be a time factor for all I know - that is, you can't give it to A again this month - over and above the previous restrictions. Fair enough, there are rules and that's it.

It isn't a matter of any concern to me as a recipient. But if I can't add to the reputation of A, I either post a "well done" on the thread or send a PM.

Just curious - I have EasyFind on my computers - just looked at Find Any File in the App Store, an $8 purchase - assume this app can be downloaded to multiple computers (3 in my case) w/o additional charge? Thanks - Dave :)

Hi Dave:

If the app is in the app store (regardless of cost) then it can be downloaded to all the computers you own without additional cost. That policy has always been true - provided the app is purchased or free from the Mac App store. However, that might not be true if purchased direct from the developer.

Thanks Chscag - that has been my experience in the past, but just wanted to double-check - will add to my 'utilities collection' - :) Dave
