It does NOT point directly to the cause of the panic, which may have rippled down from some software fault, or from a hardware problem (mostly hardware, BTW). So when we see the panic report and see that something non-apple has been loaded, that becomes the first software candidate. If the fault is shown in the GPU and the machine is known to have GPU issues, then that becomes the likely target. It's a bit like reassembling an airplane after a crash...the engine quit, which was the direct cause of the ultimate crash, but what caused the engine to quit? It takes a lot of digging to get to the triggering event, and the panic report only gives a clue where to start that digging.</p></blockquote><p></p>
