Help please. We recently updated our ibook 700mhz. Our cdrw was not working, so we replaced it with a Sony CRX830E which is a CDRW/DVD player. When we installed it we had OS x10.2 on our ibook and had to put patchburn 2 to get the rewriter to be recognized. After that we upgraded to 10.3 then did an upgrade online to 10.3.6. After that our system crashed and we could only start it by hitting the c key. Now the rewriter is not recognized at all. Any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated, as we do not know what to do next. Thank you

Maybe check the patchburn 2 site for info on 10.3 support...

Similar problem with Pismo

I have a similar problem with my Pismo, having upgraded the CD/DVD drive to a Sony CRX830E CDRW/DVD combo. Patchburner 3 solved the CD burning problem, but I still cannot play DVDs on the system, though I CAN read the files on a DVD. Any suggestions?

Is it possible to change the EPROM settings of the drive to set it to "master?" Any other possible fixes?
