We have 2 Macs in the house, one being the Macbook I'm referring to, the other is a desktop. There's a chance the discs I found came with the desktop. They don't look to be scratched, but it recognized the Ubuntu disc (although I couldn't get it to run live). Apple didn't charge me, the guy was very helpful, walked me through a few things to try, and at the end basically told me to take it in for a free evaluation at an Apple store, because if he gave me a walk-through over the phone I would have to purchase phone support. He helped more than I thought he would though. I'll call an Apple store tomorrow and schedule a visit.</blockquote>
