I need some help bad!!

I have been reading the FAQ's and using search engines for 3 days. I have a problem and I dont know how to solve it.

I have a g3 233 running OS 8

When I stick a CD in the drive (Yes it is a Mac. cd) it asks me if I want to initilize. I click yes and it gives me some kind of "can't read disk" extention. Ok so I read the FAQ's and I know that I have to enable foreign file extentions.

Problem 2- I go into the extentions folder and there is the forein file icon. I click it it says that I need to move it to the extentions folder and restart. But? It is already in the folder!! AHHHHH

Problem 3- When I attemt to connect the Lan I get timed out. I have it set on DHCP.

Thanks in advanced

First, try another CD.

If the second CD doesn't work, run First Aid, or, preferably, a better disk-repair utility if you have one, such as Norton Disk Doctor (safe to run with any Mac system up to OS X), then restart the computer and try the CD again.

If that doesn't fix the problem, rebuild the desktop, then try either CD again.

If that fails to help, go to the Extensions Manager in the Control Panels, and click on it. When it's open, go under File and create a new set. In OS 9, this automatically creates a set of extensions and control panels with everything turned on. If everything is not turned on in OS 8, turn everything on manually.

With everything turned on, restart the machine, then insert the CD. If the CD works correctly, one or more required extensions/control panels had been turned off, and you'll have to figure out which one, or more than one, caused the problem.

If the CD still doesn't work, something else is the culprit (perhaps some System 8 files are corrupt or both CDs are no good or the CD drive is dead.)
