why do you want to boot into OS9.2?

if you have any programs that require OS9 then OSX will run it using classic mode (os9)

Try booting off the OS 9 install CD, and let it install normally. Then when it restarts, go to startup disk and see if both OS9 and OSX show up.

What version of 10.3 are you using? In at least 10.3.2 there is OS 9 - called Classic in Applications.

problems

I need to run a test on the OS 9.2 system and the emac I have wont let me boot into the 9.2 boot CD. i managed to install 9.2 through classic (after a lot of messing) but it is not showing under the startup disk utility,
At this stage I'm wondering if 9.2 can be run on a Emac at all???

Possibly....here's a link to an Apple support doc. It contains another link w/ some info on which computers won't boot up in OS 9.
