Help! My g5 will not start anymore??

I got a window telling me (in 5 different languages, and with a big picture of the start button in the background) that i needed to restart my mac by holding down the start button. I couldnt do anything else so i obliged.

Now when i restart the mac i get to the first grey screen with the mac sign, and the wheel just goes round and round. I left it for 30 mins but still doesnt go anywhere.

Im in trouble if i cannot fix this fast.

Any kind souls have any ideas?

Is it my harddrive?

Try doing a reinstall of Mac OS X if you still have the original install disk, your hardware might have been damaged

how can i install the discs when i cant get the dvd drive open as the computer isnt booting up?

Is it the Mac G5 power house? Or just the old plain iMac G5?

Oh, I'm sorry, I can't help you then, I have no experience with Powerhouses, only the iMac G5. I'm sure someone else on here can help you.

Hold down the F12 key or the mouse button at start up. If you have to take the drive out and push the drawer button.

see if a little hole pokes out, if so put a paper clip FAR into it, it will pop the drive open.

It sounds like a couple of things could have gone wrong here. First off, you should try re-seating your RAM. Loose RAM could have caused the crash, so start with that. If that doesn't work, try replacing the battery on the mainboard. Going on from there, it could be in the power supply.

By the way, it's Power Macintosh, not Powerhouse
