Hi guys,

i'm in the market of buying a new MBP, i have done some searching and below are the options i have.

1) 2011 Brand new i7 2.0 MBP "Quad-Core" 15'' inch for $1585 including one year warranty.

2) 2010 Brand New MacBook Pro "Core i5" 2.53Ghz 17" Mid-2010 Sealed with warranty till Feb 2010 ($1500)

3) 2010 used 17'' MBP Intel Core i7 2.66Ghz, out of warranty with some modifications:Memory 8G 1067 DDR3 & SSD 120GB ($1,450)

I'm leaning towards option #1, what do you think guys ?

thanks in advance

Number one would be my choice also since it includes "Thunderbolt" and of course is the very latest refresh of the MBP series.

Im going with number 1 as well.
It really is hard to decide since we dont know what you do with your computer.

Then again for the price number 2 is good value as well. With the extra 2" screen real estate i would be considering that.
As chscag posted #1 has thunderbolt but atm there isnt a great deal of thunder bolt capable hardware to use it on.
We will see.

Cheers

Another vote for

#1. The 17" is a fine desk top but far too huge and heavy to lug around in my humble opinion.

I "lug" around the 17" fully decked out. I dont find it a problem for weight or dimensions. Of course my last Windows laptop was an HP 15" that weighed as much as the 17" with a shell case... And the screen real estate cant be bear for a portable machine.

So, if we are sticking to your list, #1 unless you can find the same thing (possible) in a Referb off the Apple Store.

Thanks guys for you replies. I have some point i want to include:

1) If money is no problem, i would defiantly buy a 17'' MBP. The bigger screen, the resolution, the sound system are epic. I don't mind moving it around either.

2) The only reason why i'm considering the 15'' MBP is for its newer processor (I7 Quad) and faster Memory speed 1333 MHz.

3) Apple is releasing a new MBP sometime next year, which laptop will have a better resale value ?

- Brand New Apple MacBook Pro "Core i5" 2.53 17" Mid-2010 Specs - $1,500
- Brand New Apple MacBook Pro "Core i7" 2.0 15" Early 2011 Specs - $1,585

Thanks guys.
