HELP! -Macbook intel core 2 duo - HELP!

I currently have a macbook 2GHz intel core 2 duo 3,1 and it has only 1 gb of data. I am looking to add more memory to my laptop so that I can do more stuff on it and upgrade it but I can't find any memory for it anywhere. I found something on ebay that was for this computer but it said something about 2.1 and I wasn't sure if it was compatible, can someone please help or tell me where to find memory for this system I have been searching the internet for days.

sorry for it being a bit confusing I am new to the whole mac terminology. I am located in the USA and yes I want to buy more RAM so that there is more space on my computer for it to do stuff and run a little faster because i have bought a mac (2009) I'm just confused on what kind of RAM to buy and if it will compatible with my mac.
