Help!! Internet super slow, most times won't even load pages

So I recently updated both my 2011 Mac mini and MacBook Pro to the latest macOS. Now I am having trouble being able to browse on chrome and safari. Chrome constantly gives me the page unresponsive pop up, Safari won't even go to any pages. I've tried restarting both computers, on my laptop I've renewed the dhcp license and that seems to make it work for a few min but then it stops working. I can still send and receive iMessages and emails but I can't use the internet. I'm currently trying to download malware bytes and OnyX to see if that will help me but like I said the internet is super slow.

If anybody else has these issues and found a solution, please let me know!!

Restart the machine in Safe Mode by holding down the SHIFT key during boot and see if things behave normally. What version of OS X were they running prior to the upgrade? What apps are normally running on your machine?

Everything seems to be running like it should in Safe Mode. It was whatever macOS was previous to 10.12.6, I'm sorry I can't remember which one it was. I normally run chrome and either adobe illustrator or photoshop.

Did you get Malwarebytes directly from the developers? I've used the free Malwarebytes many times and I don't have all that junk on my Mac. I suggest you uninstall the Premium version.
The /etc/hosts file has been tampered with - I do't know if that's good or bad in your case. the hosts file takes precedence over DNS (standard internet page requests), so some malware has inserted things in this file that prevent normal Apple security (automatic xProtect) updates. Please post the /etc/hosts file (or read about what shouldn't be there online).
