ok-here's the deal
I just got this macbook and don't really know squat about computers, but at least I'm trying. I'm trying to share files and I'm being prompted to "open" or "forward" my ports (whatever the **** they are) and I seem to be having some difficulty doing it. I've been to the preferences window in the application I'm using (Transmission) and toggled the switch for automatic port mapping. The port remains closed.
Yesterday I tried to enter a command:
sudo port -v selfupdate
in the terminal application, but was told the the sudo port command was not found.
I'm trying to figure out how to tweak the system a little to facilitate quicker shares/downloads so any help out there would be appreciated
