HD Locked When Trying to Install El Capitan

I would recommend creating a bootable El Capitan USB installer. It will require an 8gb flash drive. After you create, you can restart your MBP and hold Option to get to the boot manager which will show any connected drive which your Mac will boot from. Select the El Capitan USB, and go into Disk Utility. You will want to erase the entire disk drive and not just the Macintosh HD partition.
