HD Icon Help

How do I get my Mac HD icon to stay where I put it on the desktop? When I restart or put the laptop to sleep and wake it back up or save things to the desktop the icon moves around.

I want it to stay right under the clock area.

try moving your folders or files away from your HD icon (and placing your HD under the clock). it usually works for me.

then do what you usually do... once you open your computer (whenever that may be)... just check again.

Okay, I did that and put it to sleep and it stayed there. Hopefully it will think that's where it needs to stay and won't move around any more.

i have a related question. i have external drives. any way in osx to make them appear in a certain spot , say bottom left every time they get turned on?
