it's a just a normal png picture... I use tu build my dmg with a script, But I could reproduce this issue manually. I simply tryed to build an empty dmg, I created a ".background" directory and inside it I saved a png downloaded from Internet (http://sclp.ch/images/stories/immagini/copertina-web.png)... Then I opened the view option and I set the background image dragging the image I just saved. The result is exactly what's described in rasmusvedel 1st post... Doing exactly the same procedure with a .jpg file, the background shows well. I have a mac mini 2.26 Ghz Intel core 2, 2Gb 1067 Mhz and MacOSX 10.7.2 ... Well... It's a normal PNG downloaded from Internet. I could reproduce rasmusvedel 1st post behaviour proceeding by hand: Created an empty dmg file with "Disk Utility". Opened it and created a directory called ".background". Inside it I saved this image: http://sclp.ch/images/stories/immagini/copertina-web.png. Then I right click in the root of my mounted dmg and clicked "Show View options" (dunno if in english is written like that). Endly, I dragged my saved image in the option view popup. That's all! I have a MacMini 2.26 Ghz Intel Core 2, 2Gb, MacOS 10.7.2!!! In attachment I provided the results using png and jpg...
