I have a 2010 iMac 27" and recently went to disk utility to partition some of my space (for windows) and it says that "this drive has a hardware problem that cannot be repaired". It has 1 TB of total Capacity. Im not very good at computers so I need advice.

This means you need to replace the hard drive. And if you don't currently have your important files backed up already...you better do it soon...before the HD completely fails.

As Nck said replace. Bad news anything appearing in red in Disk Utility.
