I am using FCE 4 on a Macbook 10.6.8.
Periodically I use Handbrake to rip a DVD or to convert .mov files
to mp4 format. This allows my
movies to be used on various Windows operating systems for
editing by friends out of my area.
I have done comparison tests between Wondershare and Handbrake and Handbrake is slightly better in quality.
Both programs load into FCE OK.
Rendering is required before doing any editing. Wondershare takes approx real time - Handbrake takes 20- 30 times longer.
Are there any suggestions which
would solve the slow render.
Thanks- Maurice

Maurice I use Handbrake myself but time has never been a big issue. I have seen some uTube clips on reducing frame rate and aspect ratio so I know it can be tweaked. You might be well advised to go to the HandBrake help menu and navigate to HandBrake Forums for this one.;)
