Hi All

Just received my Macbook hot from the factory in China. I'm happy with it except for a few issues.

1) The fonts on the screen seem to be really hard to read, is there a setting like cleartype in windows?

2) I have a dead pixel right in the middle of the screen. Can anything be done to sort this out?

Any answers would be great....

Many Thanks

Jeremy.

Go into System Preferences -> Universal Access. Turn on Zoom. Then you'll be able to press control and scroll up to zoom in the display so you can read the text a little better. That's scroll with a mouse wheel, or you can turn on 'two finger scrolling' to do it with the trackpad. I use that all the time if I'm not wearing my glasses.

As for dead pixels, you can have them replace it, or some people just live with it.

Thanks for your comments... the apple people where really upset that I found a problem with the hardware and agreed to ship me a replacement (new) macbook.

Hopefully this will be the end of it ... but you can never tell.
