In the workforce again!!!
That's right! ME!!
I sent about a dozen (give or take) resumes out by email about 4 days ago fo various jobs from industrial cleaning, to security guards, to fast food places.
For any of you from Canada, you know what Tim Hortons is.. For those that don't, it's a coffee/donut/sandwich chain of restaurants. I personally hate their coffee, but regardless..
One of the emails I sent (all these jobs I applied for were on the government's "job bank" put together by Human Resources Development Canada), was for a baker at this restaurant.
Seeing as my luck with job searching has been non-existent, I applied not expecting a reply.
2 days goes by and I get an email back from the manager saying she wants me in for an interview (I had worked for this company for just over a year at a different location before).
I go into the interview, and I nailed it, at least from what I gathered.
She said she was going to give me a call on Tuesday (after explaining I'd be out of town till Monday).
By the time I got home (about a 30 minute subway commute), I'm in the house for no longer than an hour and I have an email with the subject "Offer for Employment"
I of course said yes, even though it's part-time to start, leading into full-time.
So I start on the 23rd, next week, as a baker for this chain of restaurants.
The cool (and probably equally annoying thing), is that they'll be swapping me between 4 different locations within the same area. So I get to meet a bunch of new people, and all 4 locations are pretty much outside of the subway stops, so that's perfect for me.
I'm just so happy I can finally start leading a normal life and get back on top of things like bills and all that garb.. Not to mention I'll be able to afford my application/seat for school!
Things are finally starting to look up. I'm just glad they finally did, because I've been out of work since August 2009, and am struggling, so now things will get better.
