Good House Building App

Hey all,

I'm looking for an application that will allow me to build a house / design a floor plan. I don't know if any of you have ever played the Sims before and designed a house in there, but basically something like. I'd obviously like the application to be free, otherwise I'd just go purchase a copy of the Sims. I couldn't seem to find a free demo of the game anywhere so I'm hoping there is freeware out there which will allow me to play around with something similar to my favorite part of the game.

Have you thought about Google Sketchup?

I'm not sure if it'll do exactly what you want, but might be fun to play with.
