I just noticed a few apps (Twitter, Flickr, Vimeo) listed under Settings, but I don't have (or want) icons for them. I did download these apps some months ago, but I deleted them. Or so I thought. Are they using any resources? How do I get them totally off my iPad?

Those are for social media integration and nothing more. They don't take up any space that you can get rid of (it's baked in) and if you're not signed into those services, there won't be a performance hit.

These apps are totally safe and will not cause any harm to any other functionality of your iPhone. If you still want to remove them then clear the phone cache files from file manager. They will be cleared totally.

There is no file manager for iOS so I suspect that this is a jailbreak contingent solution.
