How do I nuke the iOS Outlook "add recovery number" nag permanently? It keeps reappearing after I cancel it...and the best part is after canceling, I cannot access any other Outlook folder until the app is closed and re-started. Then, upon re-starting, the nag appears again.

I don't have another phone number to add.

I don't know as I don't use either but have you tried checking out any of the Google search hits like some of these might help

Sorry to just pass the buck, but there might be an answer or solution for you among the hits.

Yeah, the hits are about accessing your account after forgetting the primary number, or changing it. There should be a way to just opt out the recovery number bit right from the prompt...senseless programming. Thx.

OK - I gave in and created an iCloud address (which was another level of PITA) to use just for this. Sigh.

Is there another alternative application you could use that would save you all the hassles and frustration the software seems to be causing you? Or just another alternative method for what you want to do?

I gather the "recovery" number is a phone number associated with your Microsoft account that can be used to verify your identity and regain access to your account if you forget your password or encounter other sign-in issues.
These days you can use a number of options for recovery other than just a phone number. As you have obviously found out using an iCloud email address.

You can also use the MS Authenticator app on iOS or a Passkey which also uses an iPhone to sign in to your MS account with Biometrics. Personally I use MS Authenticator free on the App Store. The bonus is you can add any other accounts that allow or require an Authenticator generated code.

No need. Solved the problem with another e-mail address. My comment was focused on the fact that one cannot simply opt out of the recovery thing.
