Hi Harry/All I have run some tests on the G5. Here is what I did... 1. Tested the power supply and am getting the correct 5V at pin one on the plug. So it appears the power supply is ok unless there are other tests not listed in the Repair Manual I downloaded. 2. Tested the batter voltage. It comes out to 3.53V so that should be OK. 3. Reset the PMU button and it still won't do anything different. 4. Removed the battery and pushed the on off button. Waited 1 minute and plugged in the power cord. Same thing. 5. Removed the processor heat sinks and reset them in their slots. No change. Did not see anything that looked like it was leaking on the motherboard. Here is what is happening now: When I plug in the power cord I hear a click then nothing. Same when I unplug it I hear the click. The power light on the front panel immediately lights up and will not vary from steady as soon as I plug in the power cord. No fading or blinking. Nothing happens when I push in the power button or hold it in. No fan activity. No chimes. Any other suggestions? Note: I do not have the keyboard, mouse or monitor plugged in doing these tests. Is that any kind of a problem? This is a G5 1.8 PowerMac model 7,2 produced in April 2004 with dual processor (PCI-X). Family name A1047 model M9393
