Hi all, hope you can help an annoying thing that's happening, my G5 randomly through the day pops me a warning message up that it can not connect to volume "DATA" which was an old local server we used have in the studio.

Is this info stored in a folder somewhere where i can delte it, as it's annoying as ****!

Thanks

Don't know what OS you're using, but check Sys Prefs > Sharing to see what network facilities are enabled there. Settings can be edited.

Hi, can you give me a direct path to find the sharing? is sharing a folder under library or system folder?

Thanks

Bit of a resurrection :)

I am still getting this problem (Pops up at least 3 times a day):

A Volume failed to mount.

The Volume "data" could not be found.

Now, i recently found this in my Sys Prefs - Account - Login Items.

I have deleted it from there and my "Connect to Server" panel is clear!

Is there anywhere else, maybe prefs or something that this is still trying to connect?

Thanks in advance.

I have no idea if you use Time Machine for regular backups, but is it possible that the Mac is trying to mount the backup drive?

Have you ever used any Automator or Applescripts that relied on/checked for that server? If so, depending upon how they are written they may attempt to mount the network volume.
