It's a G4 867MHz, 128MB RAM, OS X 10.3.8, 40GB HD, Airport extreme, 12" display, from 2003, combo drive (something is a little messed up with it, sometimes it dosen't accept CDs, but theres apparently just some adjustment you need to make on the combodrive for it to always accept discs) and i'd give you a few hundred, we can get to specifics if your interested... but what are the specs of yours? HD, superdrive, GPU, etc... if your interested in something, e-mail me [email protected]

As much as I fear interfering with Kingcrowing's mojo, have you thought this through?

You are talking about trading a PowerMac that costs $2500 without upgrades or monitor. The newest version of the 12" Powerbook (1.5GHz and 512MB RAM) costs $1500. An 867MHz PB would fetch under $1000 on eBay fully functional.

I am sure that Kingcrowing's intentions are good but for your own sake I would suggest you do a little research. You could most likely sell your powermac on eBay and then purchase a brand new 12" or 15" PB with at least a couple hundred to spare. More if you are a student and can get the student discount from Apple.

In the end if both parties are happy with the trade that is all that matters though.

EDIT: Scott, if you can satisfy me that you are above board and that the Power Mac is full functional then I would be willing to purchase you a band new 12" PowerBook in trade. Since your Power Mac is under a year old it is eligible for warranty, but you will need to take it in for inspection. I will pay for the AppleCare warranty as well ($149), but only once it comes back clean.

yeah, we talked, and as much as i want this, i really can't afford it, even with trading my powerbook as well... but its a great deal, $2900 WITH a 17" apple and a 21" monitor, if you can afford this system, buy it!

Yeah, like I said, not trying to step on any toes... I can't afford a $3000 machine either. Well I could but have no desire to spend that much on a system at the moment.

I would suggest selling the monitors and the Power Mac as 3 auctions on eBay. Between the three items you should net somewhere in the range of three grand. I personally can't justify it but I am sure someone can.

I have thought this over completely and I know what I am doing. Make it a 15' powerbook with superdrive and you got yourself a deal

thats much better, and i exactally where kokopelli is coming from, a system like that would be awesome, but i personally can't see spending $3000 on a system, espically when the powerbook i have now does practally everything i could ever want it to do...

Guy's I had a 867 powerbook but like a idiot I sold it. However ther is no comparison whatsoever between the G5 and the powerbook The G5 blows the powerbook out of the water. But a powerbook will do what I need it to do also Scott

A very reasonable counter-offer, but unfortunately about $500 more than I am willing to spend right now. Sorry.

EDIT: I sympathize as well. I have a 12" PB that does everything I need though it could be faster. I am planning on buying a Dual 1.8 or Dual 2 GHz Power Mac but it is not on my budget till Q4 2005. I could try and justify buying it out of budget but think I'll stick to my current plan.
