G4 + Ethernet Card

Hi there,

Can anyone answer my question:

It is possible to put a standard PCI ethernet card into a mac? Is it possible to put ANY Ethernet cards into a mac? I damaged my G4 and now the ethernet port won't connect. Apple want too much money to fix it so I'm looking for a cheaper option. Anyone know? Anyone tried?

I believe you can. I placed a PCI ethernet card in my G3 and I am not having any problems.
