G4 and AGP Vid Cards

I have a G4 Digital Audio with a couple AGP slots, and my question is will ANY AGP video card work in it? Does it have to be specifically designed for the mac?

Officially, yes. Unofficially, people are using PC cards that have had their ROM's flashed to Mac-compatible ROM's. Beware that this apparently doesn't work w/ all brands. A few people are selling these flashed cards on eBay....josedm1 is a reputable seller.

Try Powermax they have a pretty good selection (when in stock) of cards. I bought a upgrade for my PowerMac G4 Agp Graphics

One other thing....I believe the latest AGP cards (8x AGP) run at a different voltage than 2x/4x AGP cards.
