what style is the combo drive? slot loading or tray loading?

if its a g3 ibook, the optical drive should be tray-loading. G4 ibooks were slot loading.

just fyi....i bought a combo drive for my g3 ibook last week for 22 shipped. 85 seems uber high. but what price range are you lookin for the casing? and how does it look?

i was looking for like 17 for the casing (with shipping as part of that). i can actually post some pics of it...

Nope, he was right. All G3 iBooks have tray loaders and all G4 iBooks have slot loaders.
