This just started for me about a week ago... and its driving me bonkers. When I boot up my Mac Pro, all its great and normal.... for about 10 minutes. After this 10 minute mark, things begin to go downhill, apps run a bit slower, and a short while after that, they just become unresponsive. Photoshop for example will freeze upon trying to save my document, resulting in many hours of lost work. Also, mounting and ejecting disk image files proves a particular challenge for my system as of late. It hangs for about, 15 seconds before mounting the image. But as soon as I try to eject it, I get the spinning beach ball, forever... which locks up Finder indefinitely. If I attempt to relaunch finder, it closes and never opens again, forcing me to reboot. When I reboot, choosing anything in the apple menu, or any key combination simply locks the whole system up, so the only way I can shut down is by holding the power button. If I attempt to restart or shutdown within that first 10 minutes of good usage after having rebooted, it works fine. ----------- So far I've tried doing a fresh format of my HD, totally erasing everything, and reinstalling OSX. Issue persists. Tried swapping out my RAM, 2 DIMM's at a time... issue persists. Tried every urband legend I can find, resetting the P-Ram, SMC Reset, Permissions Verified and repaired, Disk Repair... none of them did anything. Also used AppleJack to no avail. Help me Mac Forums... you're my only hope! ------------ Mac Pro - Early 2008 2 x 2.8Ghz Quad Core 8GB Ram NVidia 8800GT Graphics Card 4 HD's installed, alongside an external RAID unit. Recently replaced power supply, and added a UPS.
