For some reason, new folders I create on my desktop are saying "No Items" when there's files in it. Why is this?

If I create a new (empty) folder on my Desktop and check Get Info it reports "Size: Zero KB on disk (Zero bytes) for 0 items." Is that what you're talking about? Are you saying that Get Info is reporting 0 items for folders that have files in them?

When you open those folders do you see your files?

com.apple.finder.plist

corrupt preferences?

To fix, if that's the problem...
The above file (for me in 10.5.8) is in Users/MyUserName/Library/Preferences
Move the file to your desktop
Restart. This creates a new plist file in place of the other one. New one has default settings.
Try it out
Fixed? Then you can delete the file on your Desktop.
Not fixed? You can put it back if you want. This will restore your custom settings, and overwrite the newer plist file.
