I was updating some files in a folder on my NAS, and after the update was complete, I went to look at that folder in finder, and the folder was missing. I logged into the NAS, and found that the folder was still there, so it appeared that the folder had somehow become hidden. I was able to verify this using a utility that makes hidden files and folders visible. The folder showed up, greyed out. So, I searched for a solution, and found a Terminal commend that seems to have fixed it: chflags nohidden <foldername> So why did this happen? And was my solution appropriate?
