Hello,

I have OS 9.2.2 and have just got Tiger. When I boot from the OSX disk and select my language, I am asked to update my Firmware for OSX and choose a startup disk. But what Firmware do I need? I have looked on the Apple site and have searched these forums, but can find nothing. Can anyone help me out here please?

Thanks in advance.

Yeah thanks, I did eventually find this myself, although I would have thought something this important would be easier to find on Apple's site. Meh, well I'm running Tiger now so it's all good :)

Speaking of upgrading firmware for my G5..I am always asked to do it in Software Update but once I tried it and it said I should remove any after-market RAM before installing the firmware update. WHY? Because of that I haven't done it. Is it that important or is it just Apple bering pissy about not using all their RAM?

No,...it's so they can sopport any issues you might have afterward. Put your after market RAM in after the firmware update is successful.

If you're running a G5 w/ tiger there should be a Firmware Util in the Utilities folder as well.
