Hi everyone. heres what I want to ask:
I have external Lacie HD and I always have it pluged in. I eject it in finder, when I em not using it (its noise is quite annoing sometimes, espessially if one workes at nite and really needs some quietness to work). the problen is, that when I need to use the HD, I have to unplug and plug in again or to restart the HD in order for the finder to detect it. so is there any ways finder can re detect the firewire hardwear after ejecting, without having to manually plug/unplug it?
thanks for responce in advance

I know that ;)
I just need to know if finder can do it somehow.
anyway, i solved the problem. in energy saver checked the box "sleep HD when possible", now it goes quiet when I do not use it and stays mounted all the time.
I em still curious about finder, if it has any hardwear detection command.
I em an old mac user and never ever had to redetect hardwear, it just works, so I shall not be surprised if such thing does not exist :)

You can use unix a unix command from the terminal app. Some thing along the lines of sudo mount "file system to be mounted". You will need to know the absolute path (.i.e /Volume/xyz/Mac)
