Well, I'm finally able to say that I've completely converted from Wintel toys to the adult world of Mac products by purchasing a 13" MacBook Air today online. ;D I honestly wish I had converted sooner, consider I've switched over every other major electronic product to Apple over the last few years, but I'm glad I finally did it. I suppose in retrospect it was the pricepoint that kept me from switching my computing needs to Apple, but this year when I finally sat down and decided to get the computer with the specs and features that I wanted, I was shocked to find that Apple was not only less expensive in the long run, but in the short run as well. I was considering the Samsung Series 9 (I know, don't flame me too hard) until I compared specs and cost and tried them both in person. needless to say I feel I made the right choice in the Air. Now that I think back on it, I'm amazed at how long I actually put up with other products. Not that Apple is perfect by any means, but when it comes down to functionality, value and seamless integration of multiple product lines, Apple just doesn't seem to have any serious competition. The fact that my iPhone, Apple TV and incoming MacBook Air all will work together in perfect harmony (as well as providing complimentary aesthetics) pleases me to no end. Heck, I spent years dealing with and overpaying for the DLO HomeDock series of products to play my iTunes library over my TV/home theater before I finally caught on to the functionality and cost effectiveness of the Apple TV. Needless to say, I'm incredibly eager to unbox and set up my Air when it arrives Thursday or Friday. The only drawback I have is that I have to install a Windows VM in order to run some programs that don't have Mac functionality that are required for one of my careers, but at least with Apple I have an effective option. Forgive the long rant for a first post, I'm just a little excited, haha. Cheers!
