File Sharing over Bluetooth?

Hey guys, Just got a MBP, and so did one of my friends, i was wondering if we could connect over bluetooth and share files that way?

If so how?

If not, sorry if this is a stupid question....I'm new obviously

You can do this. You need to turn on Bluetooth on both machines (obviously). Open the bluetooth applet from preferences or the menu bar, and there should be an option somewhere to share files with a paired device. Hope this helps.

I don't know if you can "share" as in browsing another users machine. I can't do it between my Quad and my wife's iMac. You can send files between computers via Bluetooth though.

Yep, thats all i need is to send files. How close do the computers need to be for it to be able to connect

You might want to spend a little while experimenting to answer that question. I know that the bluetooth range is different in different parts of my house.

I'm not sure. Mine and my wife's are maybe 20 feet apart, but I can sync my Palm from across the room too. They don't have to be right next to each-other at any rate. For some reason the number 100 sticks in my mind, but I'm not sure if that would be feet or yards, if it's even relevant at all.
