I have a powerbook G4 that I would like to sell. It is a 15 inch and is from December 2004. It has 1GB of ram and 80gb hard drive. The hard drive is on its way out, and apple care will not fix it due to a dent in the corner (which is really not that bad and will be shown in pictures later when i get home to take pictures) I am on it now.. the dent is a little smaller then my pinky and does not ruin the look of the case.. if you look down from the top of the computer you can not see the dent as the bottom part of the case is flush with the top part. If it is wanted I will repair/ upgrade the drive to a 160gb drive or any size if the buyer wants pay for the part, i will not charge for labor of me putting it in.

I am going home sunday and that is when I will post pictures, but until then was curious if anybody here would know how much I should sell it for. I am going to put it on ebay for the sale but will let everybody here know when it goes up.

What price do you think I should sell my powerbook for? And do you think it would be worth it for me to put the hard drive in and then sell it or do you think I will not make the money back?

I think you would get more money from a fully functional unit. Replace drive with an 80 GB and let the customer know. Was apple care purchased? I was looking at a similar PB with no apple care with 1.25 gb of ram for 900. Maybe that could give you an idea. A real good place to get pricing is ebay. See what they have sold for there. If you purchased apple care the price of the machine will be higher, so price accordingly!

I have purchased apple care, but I sent it back to have the hard drive replaced and like i said they would not repair it because of htis small little dent on front right hand corner.. and you will laugh when you see it, its so small, I can't wait until I can go home (this coming down the shore every weekend is getting annoying because i keep leaving stuff at home).. There is still a year left on apple care. I just purchased a 100gb hard drive and I plan on putting that in there and follow your advice of selling a perfectly functioning computer. I was thinking of getting like $800 for it, but I would happily take $900 for it like the lower speced G4.. Thanks for your input and I will probably have this computer up on ebay with in 2 weeks.
