Hello everyone,

I have been thinking about selling my imac which i traded for an ibook not too long ago in order to put the money towards a new macbook. I am getting more serious about selling the imac, and saving up some cash for the macbook.

here are the specs:

20" Imac G5 - 2.0GHZ PPC (the non isight version)
1GB RAM
400 GB HDD
128MB VRAM

Also, i have an isight which i purchased about 6-7 months ago, which is in nearly new condition, no scratches on the lens, still has all the original packaging, carrying tube, stands, EVERYTHING, which would hopefully up the value.

I was just wondering what would be a reasonable asking price for the imac. I called my local apple dealer, and they told me i would only get around $900 for trade in value. Would it really only be $900?? This puppy has a 400GB HDD, and 1GB of ram. I was thinking this would be worth somewhere around $1,000-$1,200 CAD, would that be too much? I'm really lost on this one guys.

I will be able to update the post with the bus speed, cache, and any other information/references/proof like pictures when i get home from work later today :)

well probably the reason the mac retailer feels the computer is not worth much is beacuse PPC value has gone down due to the new intels. 900 canadian is around 800 US. Assuming you dont have apple care you can probably get 1000 US for it.
