Fast external SSD drive

I'm looking for just an external SSD drive for my late 2015 Thunderbolt 2 imac. Any good suggestions. mainly for video and or photo storage. 2TB preferably. I see G tech and Samsung but not sure.

I recommend and use Samsung T5 portable SSD drives. The drives can connect to USB 3 and USB-C. Shop around for prices as they vary. I purchased mine from B&H Photo in New York City.

I have no personal experience with it, but this question came up on the Mac Consultant's List and folks couldn't say enough good things about Crucial external SSD's (it's also an Amazon Choice Recommendation):

Note that this SSD is (at least theoretically) twice as fast as the equivalent Samsung T5, at about the same price.
