I recently bought my first pair of non-dollar-store 1.0 glasses. (71 YO) I got a titanium rimless pair same 1.0 .

Whilst chatting with the owner i asked about eyecare. He told me something that is really clever and so i do it daily or when i think of it, the 20/20/20 rule which is very simple and works for me.
Every 20 minutes look at something that is at least 20 feet away for 20 seconds.

I add to that about 5 to 10 'full on blinks' to get the tear ducts to spill some medicine on the lens.
I set my ipod timer to 23 minutes, then i hit repeat, so i have time to do the exercise and get up for a minute to stretch my legs.

I tend to spend probably more time than is 'lowed by the law' staring at the screen, so a bit of TLC doesn't go astray.

In the UK if you work using screens, then this is part of you training.

I've heard this before, but never tried to practice it. I wear glasses, and that's noted on my driver's license, but I can drive without them, although that's not a good idea on the open highway. I only go without long enough to get help from a passenger cleaning something off of a lens.

Great advice. Here's another : to exercise your eyes, move your eyeballs to look at the four extreme corners of your vision - upper left and right, lower left and right. Do that a few times in succession.

This good piece of advice is why it is wise not to have your monitor backed to a wall, but to an open space, or window, so you just need to look over your monitor, to exercise your eyes, though sadly I do not take my own advice, happily these days I rarely spend more than 20 consecutive minute on my computer - life is too short ;)
