I produced a movie of images and music with titles and transitions in iMovie. I have uploaded it to youtube and that worked fine. I also burned it to a DVD that works on my MAC. I am trying to burn a DVD using Quicktime so I can send to my parents for them to watch on their DVD player.

When I go to EXPORT USING QUICKTIME, I get a message saying that MISSING MEDIA:
The following event used in this project is currently not available:
UNKNOWN ALBUM
The portions of this project which reference this even will show as blank frames.

If I click continue, I then get ERROR CODE = -50

Can anyone tell me what I am doing incorrectly.

Did you change or delete an album in iPhoto? Does the project playback in iMovie when you hit the play button? It appears you have successfully exported this exact project at least twice before, so I have to wonder what could have changed since then.

What versions of the software are you using? Please always post the version information because it can help others help you.

It does playback in iMovie when I hit play, but I did rearrange my iPhotos, and change the album names.

I just tried several ideas to create your problem. No luck. So I have what may seem a silly question. When you say you "rearrange my iPhotos, and change the album names", you did that within iPhoto, right, not the Finder?

I tried mucking within iPhoto and even deleted one image, and still, iMovie 08 kept track of all changes including the deleted photo. That is because it makes a QuickTime Apple Photo Jpeg movie with the images within the projects folder structure. (An interesting side note is the image size is messed up. It really makes me wonder what those Apple iMovie 08 programmers are up to.) Anyway, I was able to export the project each time via the "Export Using QuickTime..." selection.

Yes, I rearranged my albums in iPhoto not the finder.

I have Quicktime Pro also...

I will keep trying to work it out and appreciate your time and efforts.

A shot in the dark to understand the problem would be to look at the system log.

Open the Console.app in the Utilities folder. Under 'LOG DATABASE QUERIES', in the left pane, you'll see a selection 'All Messages'. Select that and scroll the the most recent messages, probably at the bottom. Now try doing the render that generates an error. If it writes to the log also, you might get a hint of what is wrong or ever where it is looking for the 'missing' content.

It did not write to the log....very frustrating indeed.

This weekend, I am going to do a test movie and then see if I can write it to Quicktime and see the results
