I have been using my mac mini for abour 2 years with few problems but this week when I opened excel numerous files started to open. Most of them were not excel files, for example general ledger files, word files etc. What displays on the screen is not the document itself but the underlying source code. At this stage the cursor changes to what appears to be a wristwatch and most control through the mouse is lost. Thus excel has become virtually useless. I considered the possibility the a virus could be present but a virus check indicated that no virus was present. I read suggestions from trpnmonkey41 and tried "repair disk permissions" but that did not help. Any suggestions from out there will be really welcomed.
