Error 36

I connect my hard Disk to my macbook pro and started to copy files into it..
some of the files were not copy to the hard disk and the mac showed me error message. Error 36.
but its only in several files. not all of them..

Why does this happened?
What should I do?
I need to copy all the files.

-36 translates to ioErr. This is indeed exactly what it sounds like, an I/O Error.

Since this an exterior drive is involved, it could be the drive, the caddy, the cable, or the USB port used. Try doing the same thing, changing a single variable at a time. When it stops, you've probably found the cause. It could also be the local drive on your macbook pro (although, I suspect you'd see other issues if that were the case).

Ive tried to change the USB port and it doesnt help..
Its strange causes some fils didnt make me any problem..
Only several files that wont copy to the hard disk..

i dont have another cable, hard disk or something like this
and I have to copy all the files..

Someone knows diffrent way to solve this problem?

Could be:

the file(s) are corrupt
the file(s) are locked
a problem with the DS_store or other hidden files associated with the ones not being copied
external drive on it's way out
intermittent connectivity to the eternal drive
...

If it is not one of the last two, you could try:

Probably won't do anything, but I'd do a Permissions Repair first
google it if you don't know how

2nd, would open up the Terminal app
type in: dot-clean and hit the space bar once
then from a Finder window, drag the folder you are having problems with into the Terminal window
press Enter
quit Terminal when it's done

3rd, do a Get Info on the files in question to see if they are locked

edit: btw, I agree it probably is a drive or intermittent connection issue

99% says it's the hard drive has failed, or is failing. About the only thing to suggest is to wipe the external, reformat it (writing to every sector format, not a quick format) and try again. But I'll predict that you'll get more errors as you go. Once drives start to throw errors, they don't magically heal.

Is the command
dot-clean or dot_clean ?
