The apple weather app on my iphone 5s with iOs 8 is providing erroneous data for my home location and other locations. For example the app reports temperature is 82 degrees when it is in fact 40 degrees. Re setting the phone by holding power and home buttons doesn't help.

Sorry to hear that. I saw no question in the post…so I'm assuming you're just sharing an experience.:)

You could try a third party app if you're dissatisfied with the included one. A nice one is Yahoo Weather.

That can occur if you have cellular turned off on your iPhone. Make sure that cellular is turned on since without it you will not receive updated data. I know this for a fact because I turn off cellular sometimes to save battery and when I do, weather data is either incorrect or out of date.

If you live in a place like me that won't even register its Yahoo! Weather, then you might be out of luck. In Apple Weather and Yahoo! I'm lucky to get the Temp, let alone any of the "extra" stuff. I find in Apple Weather that's all I get too, no forecasts, or moon/sun rise, tides or anything, and is usually 5-10c difference.
