Any suggestions on where I can get ereader software to run on my 10.8.3 MacBook Pro. tried the Amazon one supposed for Mac and it wouldn't open

I use the Kindle app with no problems on my MBP, and have been for several generations of OS X. There is a Barnes & Noble Nook reader, and another one called Stanza as well as in iBooks reader. You can search the internet for where to get them.
