The Epson Stylus Photo R2000 is an A3+ 8 cartridge printer only, not a multi job.
We have had the printer for a number of years now and it has given good service, BUT it has now developed very poor print quality.
So far I have tried the head clean program with no increase in quality. So I had a look on the web to see if I could find a solution. I came to the conclusion that I was going to have to get a head cleaning kit and wash the heads through. I settled on a JETlifetech kit as it seemed a reasonable one.
I went through their procedure and did the head clean after to flush the cleaner fluid through and tried a test page. The Cyan cartridge was giving a solid warning so it was changed for a new one before I did the print test. It did the test but with no cyan printing.
Another head clean and print test, still no cyan. The outcome is that now the cyan totally refuses to print although when I looked at the supply levels the cyan ink level is decreasing after each head clean run. I have no idea where the ink is going?
I had wondered if it could be possible that I had left the fluid in the print head for too long, about an hour, with the possibility that it had drained for the cyan head and that there was an air lock? So this morning I did another flush with the cleaning fluid to prime the head and just left it for 5 minutes, then yet another head clean and test page. There was no difference and I am coming to the conclusion that there is more than a blockage in that head?
If anyone has any experience with this sort of thing I would be very grateful for any help?
