When running Onyx I get this message pop up. Is it important, should I do something about it?

"The system extension "EltimaAsync.kext" is not compatible with this version of OS X and can’t be used".

kext means kernel extension. This kext is evidently one you installed a long time ago. The only problem is that your Mac wastes a few milliseconds deciding (writing errors to a log) it's not working. I would delete it.
It will be in /Library/Extensions or, /System/Library/Extensions.

Cheddar-caveman,

No pardon needed!

If you consider following my advice, you'll let Find Any File (or Easy Find) do the hard work for you:)

However, to answer your question directly - and here I am using gshali's post as reference - and I might say that on my Mac, I can only find Extensions in one place:

Open Finder. Click on Macintosh HD, new window will open, choose "Library" and from the new list , choose "Extensions". My kext files are there.

There are several "Libraries". On my Mac, I did not find Extensions in either the "Library" under users, nor the hidden "Library" (found by holding down the Option key and whilst doing so, click on "Go" from the top menu bar - "Library" is shown in the drop down list).

Thanks for your patience IWT!
OK, I found the files by opening the MacHD on my desktop, then opening the Library folder then the Extension folder, but there was no EltimaAsync.kextACS6x.kext file in it? These are the files in that folder?
All very confusing for an old man ;D

@caveman:

Use the search tools suggest by Ian but instead of just searching in the extension folder, you need to search your entire hard drive. Kernel extensions are located in other places not just in the extension folder. In any event, if you can't find it just ignore it as it's obviously not being used anyway. All it's doing is taking up some space.

Thanks for the help folks. I'll run that one harryb2448 after printing out the instructions so that I can see what to do when the computer is in recovery mode.
